Digital Media Literacy Class

I learned that AI is both a powerful creative tool and something that requires caution. It changed how I think about digital identity, privacy, and the responsibility that comes with using emerging technology thoughtfully and intentionally.

As it appeared to me, creation of this video took much more time than anticipated. Initially, I paid attention to ensuring a neat appearance. However, as I moved through the assignment, I started realizing how realistic visuals generated by the computer were. The latter point definitely scared me since one’s identity may be cloned easily, which is rather disconcerting.

One of the strengths I experienced when completing this assignment was an ability to learn about the power of AI as well as efficiency of such technology in the context of creative content generation. Besides, it was exciting to witness how fast my idea was transferred to visuals, and the process taught me to think of myself from the perspective of digital presentation. I loved how creative I could be with the use of AI.

Another weakness is the uneasiness associated with realization of potential misuse of digital identity. Although all precautions are taken to ensure security of users, the feeling of vulnerability in terms of visual reproduction did not leave me.

AI helped me become more aware of digital reality and what the future of social media looks like.
